Officers


Chapter President

The Chapter President is responsible for supervising chapter life to ensure the maintenance of high standards and the well-being of the chapter. She presides at all chapter and exec meetings and conducts Pledging and Initiation. She is responsible for representing Pi Beta Phi to the university and for representing the chapter to the Fraternity. She is the chapter delegate to conventions and leadership academies. She serves as the spokesperson for the chapter and handles external contracts.

Vice President of Membership Development

The vice president of member development (VPMD), as first vice president, serves in the absence of the president. She is responsible for making membership meaningful though the implementation of Leading with Values programming. She oversees leadership development, officer training, academic excellence, cultural enrichment and wellness/safety awareness.

Vice President of Administration

The vice president of administration is responsible for member understanding and compliance with international Fraternity policies and risk management and the formulation of local bylaws and adherence to the Expectations of Membership through the Policy & Standards Board. She also coordinates the administrative functions of the chapter including record keeping, reporting and correspondence..

Vice President of Membership

The Vice President of Membership is responsible for all aspects of membership from recruitment and selection of new members, retention of initiated members, including morale and mentoring, through the senior transition to alumnae life.

Vice President of Finance

The Vice President of Finance position is a respected and important office within the chapter. The Vice President of Finance is responsible for keeping accurate and detailed records. A chapter must be financially stable in order to promote the Fraternity values. As Vice President of Finance it is your responsibility to educate chapter members in their financial responsibilities, to make sure that the financial area is organized, efficient and to keep accurate and timely books.

Vice President of Philanthropy

The vice president of philanthropy coordinates the chapter's community and Fraternity fundraising and service projects in keeping with the Fraternity's core value of philanthropic service to others.

Vice President of Event Planning

The Vice President of Event Planning arranges the chapter's events and activities from recruitment events, sisterhood activities and social events and helps ensure that member appreciation and understanding of civility, etiquette and risk management are an integral part of those activities.

Vice President of Fraternity Development

The vice president of fraternity development ensures that the traditions, ceremonies and rituals of the Fraternity are a present force in the chapter and provides a perspective of the international Fraternity through both initial and ongoing education and appreciation for the history and values of the organization.

The Vice President of Communications manages the chapter's external relationships and how the chapter interacts, communicates with its parent, campus, Panhellenic and Fraternity communities.

New Member Coordinator

The new member coordinator (NMC), under the guidance of the vice president of membership (VPM), is the primary guide, mentor and advocate for the new member class in their orientation and preparation to assume the responsibilities and privileges of initiated membership in Pi Beta Phi. The NMC schedules and arranges the participation of executive council officers, Alumnae Advisory Committee (AAC) and members as listed in the program.

Transition Officer

The transition officer is a peer position, elected by the incoming senior class in the spring of junior year. It is her responsibility to help her senior class prepare for graduation after a meaningful final year as collegians, help them transition to alumnae life after college and reinforce the lifelong commitment to fraternity membership.

Policy and Standards Board Chairman

The Policy & Standards Board's (PSB) role in the chapter is one of policy education, bylaws and adherence to policy. Policy education issues range from the Fraternity's Policy and Position Statements and chapter bylaws to the legal aspects of risk management. It is also Policy & Standards Board's duty to serve as the chapter's annual bylaws review committee.

House Manager

While specific duties vary depending on chapter facilities, the primary responsibility of the House Manager – under the supervision of the Vice President of Finance – is to attend to the physical needs of the chapter as a whole. Whether a chapter has a large live-in house, a dorm floor, a lodge, a room or suite, or rents or borrows meeting space for its activities, it is important to ensure a safe, comfortable atmosphere for all members and their guests. It is House Manager's responsibility to ensure that all applicable house rules, contracts and obligations are understood and enforced. The House Manager interacts with the chapter, its officers as well as the House Director, Alumnae Advisory Committee Adviser for House Management and Chapter House Corporation, often serving as a liaison between all of these parties.

Leadership and Nominating Committee

The Leadership and Nominating Committee (LNC) is charged with identifying leadership potential and interest within the chapter. In addition to producing a slate for elections, the LNC makes recommendations for appointed officers and assigns each member to a committee where she will be able to contribute to the chapter in a meaningful way. The LNC must at all times have a comprehensive understanding of the leadership needs of the chapter and the qualifications and interests of members.
