A Message From Our VPM

To the women of MIT,

Hi, my name is Amy Ou, the Vice President of Membership for the Massachusetts Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. We had an exciting fall semester with a wonderful new group of sisters joining our family in everything from helping each other with psets and exams during our study hours, to making tacos and eating ice cream during our sisterhood events, to dancing and competing in our game-show themed winter semiformal!

To be honest, when I first came to MIT, Greek life was the furthest thing from my mind. Me? A sorority girl? But I can't stand pink and glitter and "like, omg, like!" However, in reality, while you may very well embrace your inner Elle Woods (and we will love you for it), what sorority life is truly and fundamentally about is sisterhood and support. Those are the reasons I discovered through recruitment, and they are things I experience every day that remind me how much I appreciate being affiliated.

There is no doubt that MIT is a tough place to be. It will kick you and punch you and knock you down and make you feel worthless sometimes. But your sisters will always be there to pick you back up. They will always be there to comfort you, to make you laugh, to give you advice, to encourage you to be the successful woman you are. The bonds you form with your sisters through your experiences (both good and bad) at MIT are genuine and timeless.

If you missed out on Formal Panhellenic Recruitment, it's not too late to get a taste of what sisterhood is all about! We will be holding spring recruitment events, and we encourage you to let us show you how sweet sisterhood can be. Take a look at our calendar of events, and contact me (ayemwhy@mit.edu) with any questions!

We look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,
Amy Ou

We are friends and family.

Here is why some of the members of our chapter chose Pi Phi:
